Data Management Plans (DMPs)

A DMP is a short plan describing how you will collect, store, document, protect, and share data across a research project. Strong plans reduce risk, speed collaboration, and improve reuse.

Data Collection

What data will be collected or created? Define formats, sources, and expected volumes.

Organization & Documentation

Folder structures, naming conventions, versioning, and metadata/codebooks that make datasets understandable.

Storage & Security

Where data will be stored, who can access it, and how sensitive information will be protected.

Sharing & Preservation

What can be shared, when, and under what license. Plan preservation for long-term reuse where appropriate.
